If your towing a boat any advantage to the shorter RV would be out the window and having to hook up and break camp to launch and pull out would get old real fast. I dont know if the kids like to fish or if the wife goes with but I found it much better to get a kayak carrier and portable wheel set. Now I can go fishing anywhere weather they have a launch ramp or not and the carrier can handle 2 kayaks for the times my grandkids come along. I only have a 24' and find it just about perfect even if its a little crowded with the kids. They only go on the short trips but if they were with me all the time I would definitely be looking in the 28' range but no bigger because several campgrounds I have been to did not have any available spots for anything bigger. The really big guys seem to reserve well in advance and stay a long time, smaller non pull through spots open up all the time. I will say though that I avoid commercial resorts and go either State or Federal, ymmv.
