I agree with a couple of the above posters. If it is about $ at resale, put in as little $ as needed to make it look decent. If it about your personal aesthetic, pay at least as much attention to your spouse's tastes as your own. And weight does matter, especially if she always had a relative low carry capacity, so also keep an eye on weight.
