You ought to hear the diesels of last decade.
We have 2 mercedes cars. When wife comes home in gasoline model, the dogs hear her when she passes the gate (mostly due to radiator fan working on high).
When she comes in diesel- dogs don't know she is here till she closes garage door after parking.
5 injections per ignition cycle is one of those technological marvels.
