After 4 years of Red Max Pro - the results

I applied the Red Max Pro floor sealer on my 01 Fleetwood Expedition four years ago. After four years of fulltiming, the left side, which does get the majority of the sun started to dull and flake. The shady side still looks very good.
It took 2 hours to completely strip the Red Max on the one side. After stripping, I applied 4 new coats of the same Red Max. The shady side I just gave it a single coat over the existing application. The results are again fantastic. I have to admit, I have to reapply the front cap every year. I think the sun and my aggressive bug removal has a lot to do with that issue.

Thank you for info, is there an alternate stripper in the event its not i stores. I have it and will use it in next couple of months on my 1999 Fleetwood Discovery 34Q diesel

For an alternative stripper a dilution of ammonia in water will work. It might take a little more elbow grease then the red max / zep stripper but it works. They used to use the ammonia and water to strip the floors where I worked since it was cheaper and in that case the "elbow grease" was a floor buffer.

  • Just curious. When you use the stripper to remove the old wax, does it harm any decals that the Red Max Pro was applied over?

  • I used the Red Max Pro Stripper. Made for the specific product. I can't believe just how well it works and how effortless to use. I still used more of the original 1 gallon jug of RDM Pro and I still have about a 1/2 gallon left. Stripper? I stillhave most of the original gallon left, doesn't take much plus you dilute it for use. Like said above Zep makes the same product and is called Zep Wet Look. The process is much like applying a clear coat over the finish to really zap it into a great shine.
  • Zep wet look or Zep high traffic is the same product, available at Home Depot or Lowe's.
  • I just picked up some RedMax Pro at my local Lowes, but it has been moved from the cleaning section to the flooring section. They can order it for you, as well.
  • Do you still have some Red Max Pro? Lowe's does not have it, at least not in my area.
I want to recoat our Southwind before winter, which is coming quickly.
