Thanks for all the posts...this was not intended as a gas vs diesel, Ford vs Chevy kind of thing. Once I got over the initial sticker shock, I did do my due diligence trying to find a QUALITY part for less money. After calling several machine shops and getting the same answer, that they cannot be rebuilt, I gave up that route. As stated previously, I did find a pair of "rebuilt" ones but from what I could tell they were "rebuilt in China", not something I'd feel comfortable putting on my coach, so I passed on those. I found a new one in Nevada and another in Indiana, so they're shipping them to Az. (FREE SHIPPING..:W)
On a good note, it appears National Interstate is stepping up and will cover at least a portion of the repairs. I'll post the final resolution once everything shakes out.....Dennis
Dennis, I spent a couple of years working as a machinist in a job shop. We would not touch any thing associated with a street licensed vehicle. The liability was overwhelming when you consider insurance & DOT. That might explain why no one wants to touch you bad calipers.
There's not much that can't be rebuilt or refurbished if you find the right person with the right incentive.
