Did everyone miss the calipers are ruined as the result of a flood?
This is not a routine or normal situation. When an RV gets submerged weird, abnormal, expensive repairs may result.
The OP's issue has nothing to do with any cost comparison debate.
If your RV ends up underwater or a tree falls on it all bets are off.
This applies to gas, diesel, towable or whatever.
So basically you are saying that the ONLY way that a brake caliper can fail on a Class A rv is if it is in a flood. :B
My comments do not apply to all class A's. However the $3000 caliper referenced is not designed to fail under normal use. This is why they are so expensive and so hard to find. If they were a wear part they would be on the shelf at a much cheaper price.
Since they never fail no one has them in stock. Executive is lucky to find them at all. He had to use 2 dealers from across the country to get 2 calipers.
His predicament is a direct result of the flood and a very rare occurrence.
