Since I believe MOST DP operators do not even know WHAT caging an air brake means, I doubt they know how to do it. Simply put, caging an air brake system means bypassing a failed portion of the air brake system. If a component of your air system fails, such as a severed brake line, your air brakes will lock. You then will have to manually unlock that brake and secure the failed brake line before the coach can be moved again. Personally, I've got issues with crawling under my coach for any reason having lost a friend when his air system failed.
