I often read posts from folks annoyed by the "noise" of the A/C. the solution is to leave it on HIGH and let your mind filter out the blower noise.. This will "mask" some of the compressor noise, and also the kids playing outside, or the "Big children" (Adults by another name) Fighting on the site next door,, or the police hauling them away in bracelets, or... Well perhaps not that last one.
(Ok, so it was not the site next door, it was about 10 down)
