Several things may be in that area. Check for a solenoid that operates the step cover. It should be on a frame rail on the passenger side in the generator area. Since you already can hear a leak, it should be pretty easy to locate.
BE CAUTIOUS UNDERNEATH A COACH WITH A KNOWN AIR LEAK !!!! It will fall faster than you can crawl out from underneath.....Dennis
