Nautilus P1 has leaking connections

I'm totally stumped by my inability to stop the swivel connectors to stop leaking on my Nautilus P1 system !!   I first noticed a slight drip when the valves were in position to power fill the fresh water tank.   I thought the rubber cone washer was just bad so I replaced it.   The leak got worse.   Then I purchased a new swivel connector which includes the cone washer and installed it properly with pex cinch clamps and tool.  Leak is still there.    I played around with not tightening it much (1/4 turn past snug)   then tightened it more.......leak got worse the tighter I made it.   The Manifold on the back of the panel looks good.   I removed it and gave it a thorough examination and saw no cracks and the threads look good.

I'm totally stumped by this.   I normally have good success with fixing about anything but  for some reason this Nautilus P1 panel has become a royal pain in the rear.    Would appreciate suggestions or ideas.

  • I found my leak.   It was in the threads of the manifold.    I pulled this manifold out three days ago so I could get an up close examination.   I expected to see a crack or a deformity but it looked perfect so I re installed it.   Changed the swivel connector twice but it still leaked.  Changed the cone washer seal 3 times using different brands. The tighter I tightened  it the more it leaked.    I finally ordered a new manifold and that cured the problem.   I don't know why this leak started because I have winterized properly each of the 9 years I've owned this trailer.     So if anyone has a leak and changing the swivel connector or cone washer does not correct it then order the section of manifold you need. $$

it seams to be pretty common for leakes on the Nautilus P1 from what I have found when I did a search.  glad you found yours.

  • where exactly is it leaking, throught the threads or from the hose side?  you said you use pex conectors, are the hoses actual pex, or the flexible garden hose stuff they like to use in rv's ?  if it is the latter see if you can replace it with real pex.  if not, you have to get proper fasteners for it, pex clamps on non-pex lines is a very bad practice and just prone to leakes, but the rv manufactures do it because it is fast and cheep, and thats what they are all about.
