Like you I was a first timer when it came to doing a cross the country trip and back... I had both the TST system, and carried an air compressor, air wrench, floor jack, and spare tire... After coming home and needing none of that stuff, I asked myself why I carried all that stuff,taking up valuable space and extra fuel.. Next time I will leave all that stuff at home and depend on my tire monitor and the good sam's road service... And as for reliability you have nothing to fear...
