Yes Sir, you are correct but, if you read the first line in my first answer to the OPs thread, I mentioned the fact of "Filling" a completely empty 22.5 in tire would seriously tax a small compressor. But, to top one off, many of the small ones like:
Porter Cable/Sears unit
will do just fine. I've proved it more than once. That one I'm linking here is an exact copy of the Sears unit that many of us carry. Again, I would not attempt to fill even my 255-80-22.5 with it if, the tire was completely flat. That compressor is ONLY for topping off a few pounds. And, your statement about the cut in pressure-cut out pressure is correct in that the system may be a lower psi if and when you need "top off" of a given tire. In that case, the engine compressor needs to be cycled to achieve max air system pressure.
