This is a bit like trying to decide between a nearly new, lightly equipped Honda Civic, or your grandma's lightly used, fifteen year old, Buick LeSabre. They both provide a lot of the same utility, but are totally different vehicles, from different ends of the spectrum. We own a 2007 Vista, and have been relatively satisfied. It's light on features, fairly well built, definetly a "vacation grade" unit, and at 34' a nice size. Personally, after spending the better part of three years living in it 60-80% of the time, as a couple, the wife and I find the smallest of Vistas to be a bit too tight, space-wise, to be acceptable. I can't comment on the Airstream, other than to be careful with opinions from diehard Airstream enthusiasts, as they can be loyal to the point of not being very objective, and would sing the praises of any Aistream, even if it was on fire, and crashing off a cliff:)
