AirTab

In this weeks RV new letter, I saw an ad for AirTab. These plastic pieces are glued to the rear of the RV for better air flow and performance, which I am translating to better gas mileage.

Do they work?

Does anyone have them? or used them?

They sound like a logical idea and in theroy they should work, but like everything the ad indicates they are the best thing since sliced bread.

What are your thoughts, please

They are suppose to eliminate the vacuum behind the coach.
I'm thinking if they were that good, you'd see them on truck trailers.

Yep, that is where you see most of them as they were originally designed for truck trailers. The thing is that you can get them in different colors and most people, like you, have just never noticed them on truck trailers. I have seen many many trucks with them, but I know what to look for. :B
  • Hi,

My experience is very nearly the same as rgatijnet1. However, they also lowered wind noise by a considerable amount.

I would buy them or a similar product again.

  • I have had them on two coaches and they worked fine. If the construction of your coach allows them to be installed correctly, they will provide less wind resistance from the vacuum created behind most vehicles.
On my coach I noticed that they help in windy situations and they keep the rear of the coach cleaner. If they improved the fuel mileage, it was too little for me to notice.
