Alarm type noise
I have a 98 bounder 34v with a Ford 460 I can drive several 100 miles no problem then all of a sudden I get a strange sound it's a low whistle/buzzertype noise it only last a few seconds but continues...

The cover is used to cover the drain hole or slot on the windows of your RV. It is a plastic and can be knocked off easy and then the window slot will make a whistle noise in the wind.
It could be a bearing noise, does that unit have bearing supports for the drive shaft to the rear?
I have a Jeep Wrangler and the distributor bearing went out and it did make a noise similar as you have described but it started to continually make noise all the time
