I believe the manual says to change out the fluid and filters on a new unit when either 3 years or 36,000 miles. There after you're to change the fluid every three years and filters every four years (I may have that reversed). Our motor homes will never see 150,000 miles in three years, so it's best just to do as "accsys" does and do fluid/filter every three years.
BTW, I also believe that all 3000MH Allisons have two filters. Drain fluid and replace plug. Then remove each filter one at a time and replace. Refill with the correct amount of Transynd. Having the fluid checked at Blackstone (or other labs) is an excellent idea. This will tell you how the trans is operating and if the fluid has any foreign material in it.
You can have it flushed out completely, but highly suggest a reputable service tech to do it unless you are experienced at it.
