I would go through the rig to verify that is the only light or 12 volt device that doesn't work. Odd that they ran a circuit just for one light.
Verify that all other lights, closet lights work along with any 12 volt fans.
Many lights have splices tucked into the ceiling. You must remove fixture then work splice out.
Some rigs are pre-wired for 12 volt fans in vent. Must remove garnish to check.
Disconnct oth wires from 12 volt source, then re-check.
If you don't use it I would leave it disconnected.
