alternate ceiling light for when wiring is shorted

Any other input anyone? At this point, my ceiling has trim strips going from side to side about 4 feet apart. I may make my own ceiling trim strips that intersect the ceiling light fixture and hide the wires inside this new trim strip. When it gets to the edge, I think I will be able to get the wires through the cabinets cleanly and then fish the wires down to the floor, then work it towards the converter. Was just hoping someone else had done the same.
