Before I give fellow RV's a bad name I will ask your opinion.I live in Ohio, my daughter-in-law and 2 grandchildren (age 3 and 1)live with DW and myself. My son is USAF and stationed overseas. My Daughter-in-law and kids are flying to visit him soon. They leave from BWI between 10AM and noon on a saturday morning. Show time at BWI is anytime between 4AM and 6AM, the earlier the better because of the space available list.I would like to take them to BWI in the RV arriving the friday night before the flight about 8PM and park in the long term parking lot. The daughter-in-law will check in at 4AM via the shuttle. Kids and grandparents will shuttle to the terminal 2 hours before flight time.Does anyone have a problem with an overnight in the long term parking lot? BWI has not answered my email yet. Would this give "US" a bad rep??Thanks for your opinion.

I don't see a problem with that. I agree with you trying to get a ruling from the BWI parking folks.

Try calling either the Airport Police or the local police department and ask for permission to park at the area or a alternative large vehicle parking area. Personally, I would see no reason for a parking restriction, just make sure the height clearance permits entry. You might also check with the airport fire department and see if they have a large vehicle space available.Good luck, and Happy Trails.

If you need a space the KOA in Millersville MD is a couple exits from the airport.

sounds like a plan to me... just be sure you ask someone who really knows the answer. I took an early morning flight out of a small town airport a few weeks ago, called to find out what time security opened, as I didn't want to check in and then wait an hour for security. airport admin (who supposedly asked airport police) told me 4am. I got there about 4:15 and security didn't open until 5:00. I was not a happy camper, as I was up real early to sit and wait.. and there wasn't even a snack bar open to get a cup of coffee.

Good---By the way if someone wants to visit you in the BWI lot all they have to do is pay to park and visit----those lots are pretty secure.

I am still here, and I will close the loop. BWI said no problem parking in long term lot, however, no campfires, awnings, awning lights, and NO visitors.

No toad involved... for those interested. Estimate in about 8PM friday out before 10AM saturday.

Regarding Ft Meade campground... I am retired military so no need for guest sign in.

Not sure about wrong but are you sure you want to be maneuvering a motorhome in an airport parking lot? Your AP may be much roomier than ours in Atlanta, but there is no way I would try this at Atlanta

We have done just that at Orlando International Airport to drop off someone at night, and then leave in the morning.
There is plenty of room in their remote lot.
We didn't ask permission.

You might get on Google Earth and check out the lots for size, capacity, entrances and exits, etc. Most major airports have a lot that is accessible to large vehicles.

Not sure about BWI in particular. However 2 years ago when we made a trip to Providence, RI for a conference I parked my 35' Class A in the long term parking at the Providence Airport for 4 days while we stayed at the hotel for the conference. The hotel was downtown and had no parking near it, but we had used the motor home for travel and cargo space to transport the conference goodies. I parked it all the at the furthest out of the way spot I could and they only charged me the single car rate despite taking up multiple spots.

My MD house is on Aviation Blvd accross the street from the General Aviation terminal at BWI---I have a couple of AC there so if you don't do any better PM me and I will tell you where to park---If you have a Toad you are good to go or walk across the street to the Gen Aviation terminal and catch the shuttle......I have seen Many large units, road tractors (no trailers), etc in those lots but don't know about how tall you can be.
