To keep them from dropping, I would try a couple small blobs of Goop on the back, tape them up until the Goop dries, and that should hold. Worth a try. I use that stuff on many things. Probably should try it on my hair.
3M makes some stuff called Adhesion Promoter. I used to use it re-applying side mouldings on vehicles before I retired from doing automotive body work. It comes in small packages with a sponge applicator. It REALLY makes two way tape stick. I may still have some in my tool box.
