I never said that California fuel was 80% alcohol, I said alcohol has 80% of the amount of BTUs or energy in it. California fuel as at least 10% alcohol. I believe the alcohol is around 15%. But California has two different blends of fuel (summer and winter). One has extra ozonated additives added to it. It does not burn, it helps (Ya right)run cleaner. It raises the cost and gives you less mileage. But on the upside, the state gets more taxes. Another thing, California is going to raise fuel tax $.15 to help repair the roads. But the governor is sending it to the bullet train that will run from Bakersfield to Modesto. At the cost of billions of dollars. This will make California Gas tax around $.60 a gallon. The taxes they have collected at the pump keeps getting sent else ware. Do not look for California roads getting any better.
