Actually it is very useful, because it gives newbies some statistical analysis of what to expect. Its not about flipping the coach, its about budgeting costs of buying a used coach. There was a thread several years ago here and the typical expenditure was around $8K.
When I bought my coach, I was spending an average of about $1K per year to fix worn/broken parts. Some of that was forced expenses, some of it was things that I knew were broke and just was waiting to fix. That lasted about 7 years, till I burnt a valve in the engine. That was an excuse to spend tons of money. I could have done it much cheaper, but I wanted to be able to tow and be able to maintain any speed on any hill/mountain. So for the totals over 11 years, I've paid $11,000 and have probably dumped another $17K into it. The engine and trans was around $11K or that 17. In 11 years, I've broken down numerous times, but have never been left stranded.
