The air admittance valve on our unit failed when it was only a few weeks old. Pee-yew! It smelled horrid. I picked up a new one at Lowes, and had it swapped out in about five minutes. No more stink! Pull the old one out and take it to the store with you. Make sure the threads are the same, and you're good to go as soon as you screw the new one in. I'd put a little Teflon tape on the threads, but it's not really necessary as long as you snug it up.
