Last summer we started to look at motorhomes to replace our current fifth wheel and quickly became discouraged with what we were seeing on the dealers lots, the quality of the units was terrible . Things were broken and not working on most of the units we looed at and it did not matter what manufactures we were looking at , furniture that did not work, moldings on the floor as well as broken cabinets and lights that did not work. check engine lights and no power right off the lots. I understand that these things happen but every coach we looked at had something wrong or broken. We had never driven a class A so we first took the gas chassis out and was really surprised how much work it took to drive them and the engine noise was loud with the High RPM gas V10. we decided maybe and entry level diesel pusher may be the way to go and took a few of those out same quality issues and the entry level models all had 300 HP engines which for a first time driver seemed under powered and did not handle well with an air bag suspension. After posting a lot of questions here and learning from class A owners we have decided to look for a used upper level diesel pusher that has the higher HP engine and better quality build but a few years old . The other thing we noticed was how few true residential floor plans there are available in class A coaches by that I mean a actual living area or dinning area like many fifth wheel floor plans have , Floor plans were what really pushed us away from the class C's, there are a few super C now with diesel chassis that look interesting but we will take our time and take a look . Thanks too the owners here that helped us out when we were looking .good luck to the original poster in your search
