I'm always surprised when I hear about a lack of quality fit and finish of so many coaches. And I know it has to be true because I read things about it all the time. I take pride in the things I own if I spend $500.00 or $100,000.00 both get the same treatment.
I'm just amazed that someone would have a motorhome and not fix what's wrong and not perform scheduled maintenance. I would be mortified to have someone walk into my coach and have them see a cabinet door out of plumb, a piece of cracked or missing molding etc. I don't believe any motorhome manufacturer sets out to build a bad coach. One may have more things to deal with than others, but they can be fixed. And if fixed right it should last or am I just wishful thinking?
Driving down the road with rattles and squeaks that I could have fixed and didn't would drive my crazy! I'm sure many of you are like that as well.
Tomorrow I'm going to a dealer and spend most of the day looking at both new and used motorhomes. I want to see up close and personal the different floorplans.
Not that I've settled on a gas model but one plan that has really gotten my attention is the Thor Windsort 35C GVWR 22,000 37 ft. Ford F-53 Chassis 6.8L Triton V10 362 HP, 457 lb. Torque and 6 speed tranny. I'll be curious if I feel the same way about it after spending time in it. I didn't know you could get a bath and a half with washer & dryer in a gasser?
As always, thank you all for your excellent information, its been invaluable to me.
With a gasser, I'd be looking at a slightly used, 1 1/2 bath Newmar Canyon Star if it was me.
