The red light on the recall can be caused by a slow drop in 12 volt supply in the RV. I normally do not recommend this, but since it has been posted on numerous forums----Right by the red LED run a powerful magnet over the box. This will usually reset the Box. It may take awhile but be patient. Norcold will replace a defective recall kit, BUT, the Rv'er must pay a check out fee for the service center to verify that the old kit is defective AND the cooling unit is not defective or the ventilation blocked. We charge 1/2 hour labor to check the refer and kit and IF defective then Norcold pays us an extra 1/2 hour labor to R&R. Doug
PS, regardless of what is posted on these forums, I have found very few recall kits defective(since the release of Rev E), there is either a bad cooling unit or a blocked ventilation or cooling fan problem. The recall kit kicks out when the flue gets to 700 degrees. The normal operating temp of the flue is around 350 degrees.
