You see the tow bar on the back? He was figuring the AVERAGE mileage while towing. In other words the fuel mileage from A to B for two vehicles. So if he used 10 gallons of gas to go 60 miles it would be 6 MPG for one vehicle. Since he was towing, then he has to figure the AVERAGE for two vehicles or 12 MPG. It is all in how you do the math. :B
