- regis101ExplorerAs the saying goes, "It doesn't matter what you pay for an antique, ya just have to like it"
I first heard this from furniture shoppers but it applies to most anything. - tatestExplorer II$10K?
I can never really tell about "vintage." I know a dealer who recently sold a fairly rough looking but original Econoline pickup for $8000, and moderate custom restorations can get easily double that, totally original even more.
The original retail price was something around $2500, but most of the production got sold to the Department of Defense or GSA for under $1500.
Chevy Greenbrier pickup from same era is much rarer, even more precious.
This particular RV could be almost a one-off, but the more it gets modified, the less valuable it becomes. - cgmartineExplorerI think the ten bills is to be given to whoever manages to drive it away.
- romoreExplorer IIThat is a cool old rig but 10 bills??? I think not.
- pnicholsExplorer III'll bet the propane furnace in that rig has a pilot light lit, is fanless, and vented to the outside design .... similar to the type propane furnace we had in our 1969 Chinook!
I wish they still offered those kind of propane furnaces for RV's - no battery consumption, along with no oxygen consumption of the air or pollution into the air inside the living area. - Memories! I have always had a soft spot for those old chassis-mounts. Where it all began for Class C's.
If you consider buying, be careful about believing the mileage stated. How many digits did the odometer display in those days? I cannot remember and it is not visible enough on the photo to tell. 97000 miles could be 297000 or 497000. Look at the paint where the driver's arm would rest. See if the foot pedal surface is worn smooth. Any way you look at it, this is an old truck. That isn't always a bad thing. Fords of that vintage were pretty easy to repair. - gboppExplorer

Yep, I think it's cool but definitely needs some work.
Some of the stuff built today is junk before it leaves the factory.
Anyone know if this is a factory or home built unit? - CKNSLSExplorerI guess there is a fine line between "oldie but goodie" and junk.
- downtheroadExplorerAh, "The stories it could tell."
