Another surge guard question??

One of these saved my coach twice during a storm in southern Arizona a couple of years ago. I'll never leave home without it.

I don't think any mfg has a built in surge guard. I could be wrong.

When you do buy a surge guard, I'd go with the Progressive Industries one, because it is great customer service and a lifetime warranty!

Don't know how your RV is configured, but wherever the electric cord comes into your camper, it should be behind a panel, somewhere. You should be able to remove this panel and look inside to see how the umbilical cord comes into the camper and is attached to your converter - power supply. Somewhere between the space where the cord comes through the wall from the outside to the power supply converter, you should find a surge protector. If none is there, I suggest you call your dealer and have them look it up and tell you where it is, if one exists. If none exists, you can install a permanent one inside your coach, get one that attaches outside the coach on the electric pole-plug. Somewhere inside the coach, you should have a panel you can remove so you can see where the cord is.

I would bet you don't have a surge guard.

We have a 2014 Hurricane, and there was no surge guard on it, so doubt there is one on yours. Dealer included a 50 amp unit with coach.

I don't know your abilities or desires for DIY but if you can change out a light switch you could install a Progressive Industries hard wired one.

Newer Tiffin DP have a standard SurgeGuard RV Power Protection Transfer Switch.

Note: SurgeGuard also makes a RV Transfer Switch without Power Protection. There are several models of Surge Guard so check your individual RV.

Country Coach did have!

progressive industries is the best. had a little problem with mine and they said it to us. we did and no charge for it. o ring leaked a little causing it to not work. will never be with out it.
