I think the new antennas designed for digital provide more range. I had a regular batwing and got good reception on digital tv. I now have a Jack and it gets good picture. I can't tell you if one is better in terms of picture or range. So you see the debate is on. One thing is clear, the lack of reception is not because of the old batwing if it is connected properly and assume it is as the old analog worked.
