Has anyone replaced those pair of rubber bushings on a P30 454 Chev chassis? The sway bar bushings look smashed with cracks.Mine look squashed and I'd like to replaced them both. Only one looks bad than the other, but I would like them (both) replaced. They look like split type.Is this a DIY project? Or is there special procedure to follow prior to removing these bushings? What material is better than the other?I know the weight has to be relieved before proceeding. BTW: They are the rear bushings.Thoughts?

Thank you. That's what meant. Polyurethane. Stiffer and lasts longer.

If sitting on a flat level surface there is no load on the bar, merely its own weight, so its rather easy to replace the bushings.Charles

I replaced front and rear bushings on our previous MH. Ordered poly bushings online and did the job in the driveway. Not hard but I snapped a couple of the bolts on the rear and had to get new ones. Not a big deal, they're not special bolts.

How did you manage to snap the bolts? Were they corroded or just low quality. Either way, I'm getting new high tensile strength bolts then.
NAPA is just around the corner.

Check your front bushings also. You can replace them easily with Neopreme ones.

Strongly recommend Polyurethane, not neoprene bushings for all suspension components.
