Two problems I looked into before we replaced a dead Dometic with a new one, First off, you need an inverter to power the fridge whenever you aren't on ac power at a campsite. As long as the engine gernerator in your rig is keeping the house batteris charged when you arent moored, you'll be OK.
My other concern is with forces resulting from driving maneuvers causing the doors to pop open. RV-specific fridges have locking latches to prevent this, but residential fridges don't. I'd be reluctant not to have some form of positive lock on the doors, and it would need some form of modification to a residential unit to provide it.
We had the Dometic fridge in our 11-year old rig fail last season. After a lot of analysis, we decided to go with a replacement from the same manufacturer.
The opening door problem is easily solved by a piece of Velcro around the door handles.
