If your meter has a current setting, you can pull the fuse and measure the current using the fuse contacts. BE CAUTIOUS! Many meters with a current function only allow 10A and it is not fused, so a current higher than 10A will destroy the meter.
I do agree that the Magnetek converter just does not have the charging ability for that kind of camping. You would be much better off with a PD 9200 or 4600 series converter.
