I have 3 batteries on my bench right now:
8/04 Everstart that's holding 11.77v
5/06 Kirkland w/ 12.43v and the
?/10 Blue Optima w/ 12.51v.
I'm tempted to try a battery desulfator and put the Optima back in but it seems I'm only buying time and overworking my system in the process so I'm leaning to a Wally World deep cycle. If I could fit a larger capacity one I would but it just won't fit without a little 'body work'. The larger Optima might due to the fact it's not a true rectangle. I have a 'fin' protruding towards the battery compartment.
Using a second WM deep cycle would provide peace of mind but I would need to provide mounting for it outside the cab. The previous owner had a battery under the dinette seat. The wire he ran to under the hood ended up shorting out on a shock and fried the master computer (ECU?). That was an expensive and aggravating lesson.
