Assuming you meant 1.4A that is very significant. It could be a door heater and your refer might have a way to disable it. Plus if a door heater it shouldn't be on 24/7.
I've removed the flue from the refer and used a bottle brush on a wire to clean the refer from the roof. Cover the burner and make sure you don't hit it. Good for another year or two.
My Sears clampon is reasonably accurate for RV work including a few tenths of a amp. But a pro would have a Fluke or similar.
