- John_S_Explorer III bought my first class A DP Foretravel at 39 years old. I am on my third Foretravel now with over 360K miles on them. I will buy my last coach in a couple years. I am now 53 and at 55 I will follow Mr Marks footsteps and build one to my specs.
- glamisorbustExplorer III am 34, my wife is 33 and we have had a gas class A and now a 99 model holiday rambler endeavor diesel pusher. Been RV'ing since we were 22 and 24. Started with a beat up old truck camper, went to a travel trailer, 5th wheel toyhauler, class A gas and now the class A diesel.
- RVChippysExplorerWe bought our first RV and it was a Class A last year.Way back then i was 51 and my wife 50.Now that we are 52 and 51 respectively,i don't know why we didn't buy one 20 years ago.
- etruittExplorerI was and am 67 before we actually had money left over at the end of each month and after raising and educating 2 children and getting them married off and independent that scared the hell out of us so we decided you can't take it with you and traded our TT in on a motorhome. If we die before it is paid for I hope our children will enjoy RVing enough to finish paying for it and use it.
- JamesBrExplorer34 I bought my Monaco Knight DP, it was older but very nice and in my affordable range. It set my standard for sure, but I happen to be at the RV show and sitting in a Sanibel when I said I really like the loads of space this has to offer compared to my 2 slide DP. I couldn't afford a DP with that much space as a 3 or 4 slide unit. Plus, I had a very different use pattern by then. My user pattern now (which is about 20-25 short and long weekends a year and a 2 week winter vacation) it sees a lot of use. But most of the use is at a seasonal spot with only 3-4 times I pull out from there from March through November. when I bought the Monaco I was moving about more. It also helped I already had the F350 at home.
- 93mastercraftExplorer III started a similar thread a while back. However, my question was how old were you when you bought your first DP. I was 44 when I took the plunge into a class A DP. The way I have it figured is this. Hopefully by the time I retire it will be paid for. I store it in an inclosed garage so I hope and pray that the only thing I have to worry about is normal wear and maintenance and not the debilitating effects of sun and leaving it outside. I think that as the price of the coach goes up, the age of the owner does too. Unless you are crazy, like me, or rich with plenty of cash laying around.
- dcbrewerExplorerStarted out 20 years ago at age 40, with TT, than a fiver. Got first class a in 06, which is the one we have now. Just need more time to use it...
- J-RoosterExplorerI started RVing in 1976 I was 26 years old then!
