Anyone do Mods to cabover bunk?

In the interest of weight management, we removed both the mattress and the removable section that fills in the space to complete the bed. (Not sure what it is called but, it was heavy!) In they're place, we carpeted the area and put wicker baskets there for added storage. Not great utilization of the space but, it works for us.
