Most attendants will not hold a CC. Instead they now run the CC with a preauth ammount over 75, but you still need to come back in for the final sale. When I do have to got that route I always try to auth no more then 25 over what I think I will need. That way if I miscalc how much fuel I will need I wont have to deal with another CC swipe.
