Apparently, some of you do not read prior posts before posting. This topic gets posted about every two months and people get bent around the axle about how their card didn't work and the gas station owner should be shot!
NEITHER the gas station or the credit card company decides on how much fuel you can buy. A third party who processes the payments and guarantees the station will get paid makes that decision. Some of the bigger places like Flying J can apparently set what they want with their card.
The high price of fuel and the high number of low life thieves will cause all of us to suffer through multiple credit card swipes at the pump. My credit cards allow two swipes and then I'm locked out. Some places with a $125.00 limit, that's enough. Other places I have to break out a second card. We fuel once a day when travelling and usually don't push past needing more than 40 gallons which helps te situation.
