Forum Discussion
- Raist11ExplorerI frequent a few forums and only the forum that is supported by the company for their product is ad free. There are so many websites, forums, search engines, etc now that have advertisements embedded that I don't pay attention to them anymore.
I will say this, running a forum is not as cheap as you think. It's not just about having some moderators to keep the peace. It could be worse, one forum I frequent for my truck seems so bogged down with ads that its like the page loads slow because of them. Now that is annoying. - Dog_FolksExplorer

I have AdBlocker Plus for Firefox, no ads make it through.
Just installed it and I still see them.
Maybe this might help. Clear all your cookies and browsing history.
Then find CCcleaner and install/run it.
Then if you have a good virus checker, update it and do a deep scan for malware/virus.
Working now - Thanks! - the_vfoxExplorer

It wouldn't bother me not to see ads but the last time I sent a post about ads I almost got banned. - EffyExplorer II

So .. The ads make the site free to use. It cost real money to maintain a site like this.would you PAY to use this site ? And before you say yes , sites that have tried that failed . They aren't pop ups that block the screen and require you to dismiss them , they are just there for you to read or ignore! Scroll over them !!!
I guess I don't see the problem . What do people do during the football game / program and the commercial that pays for you to have " free" access comes on ?? How did you read a newspaper with all those darn ads?
I say enjoy the " free" resource ignore the adds , unless of course that's the problem .. You can't stop buying stuff ??
Jeez, chill dude. I get how it works. I didn't say it was making me bleed out my eyes. I just mentioned if anyone else saw them or it was specific to me. And BTW, I flip channels during commercials. Hate commercials. Frankly after paying for my TV service an already absurd amount, I really don't feel like I need to be subjected to 40% of the content being advertisements. I'm paying them money to provide a service and in turn I get asked for more money at the expense of my viewing pleasure. Maintaining a site like this really doesn't cost much. The recent ads are that GS partnered with Dish. Well GS isn't paying itself for advertisement so your point is moot. It's really more of "well we own the site and want to make more money so let's slap an ad on it". I really could care less, it's bothersome, sure but my knickers aren't in a twist about it. Wish I could say the same for others. - jorbill2orExplorer IISo .. The ads make the site free to use. It cost real money to maintain a site like this.would you PAY to use this site ?
