- rgatijnet1Explorer IIISince we started as tent campers and moved up through a bread truck conversion, etc, my wife and I have both learned that there is no need to over pack. When we first started traveling stores were not as plentiful as they are now. Now, we are very seldom more than an hour away from a Walmart or a pharmacy. Since she likes to shop, even if it is just for groceries, this gives her a chance to do what she loves without packing things that we can easily pick up along the way, if needed.
- Hank_MIExplorerWhen we head to FL for a few months in the winter I have to remind my wife that they have stores in FL. It's nice to arrive and not have to run out to the store right away but you don't need a 3 months supply.
- Canadian_RainbiExplorerWe have been traveling with 2 dogs. For some reason we needed 6 dog beds. And NO they were not minitures. Nor were they allowed on the furniture. Then there was the 5 months worth of dog food for the winters in Mexico for dog who had a grain allergy, and the toys, etc etc. But I would have it no other way.
I did once suggest to DW that a small Midi lathe would fit in one of the compartments but didn't get too far with that one.
Can't complain though, the Ham Radios and APRS met no resistance.
One thing I didn't have and should have had was a spare serpentine belt. :S - 427435ExplorerI'm probably more guilty of that than my wife. I have at least 200 lbs of tools------------everything from a spade to a 3 drawer toolbox to a cordless drill and bits.
- NaioExplorer III believe I take a lot of stuff, but then I only have a minivan, not a 40' Class A :). Two weeks worth of clothes and water, nearly that much food, a lot of tools...

My late wife believed in traveling light including her closet. My wife now jams every drawer and closet full. Mixers, electric oven, groceries (we don't even eat in that much). Now it's emergency rations in the basement. Anyone else have this problem. :h
Thats only your wife doing that, :R try a wife, a daughter & her two kids, that what I deal with. One whole rear compartment is devoted to the kids toys.
Only space I have, is a tiny closet beside our bed & the drivers seat & then ALL the wonderous dutys to keep everything rolling.
Neil - SCVJeffExplorerI take so much stuff that anyone else overpacking is impossible

my FIL law wanted to know if they forgot any thing. My dear MIL said if they did I would have it in my TT. So yes I do pack heavy, Justin Case rides with me.
I like that, never heard it before. I told my wife and she said Justin Case was her late husbands radio name. :C - GHOST1750Explorer

My DW believes every surface must have something on it to the extent there is no empty space. Every cabinet must be packed full which of course keeps things from sliding. We could be a supply depot for the Red Cross to include food, water, clothes, medications, and blankets. This includes both the house and the mh.
Does your wife have a twin ? :W - et2ExplorerOther than clothes and pets and electronics thats it. Everytime all the time. Shopping is done once reaching our destination - only for things we need. Not much brought back home. Much time is spent eating out.
Laundry is done in the MH on long trips so it doesn't need being done when we get home. This way we can pack lighter with the clothes also.
