I am a steel wheels kind of guy. Much less likely to be damaged by road debris, chuck holes, tire machines operated by inept tire installers, etc. I presently own the one set of alloy wheels I have ever had, on my '04 Pontiac Vibe. When I bought it one wheel was bent and would not balance, I replaced it, now I have three wheels bent from normal interstate and secondary road use. I'm not hard on a car, its just that alloy wheels are more easily damaged, that is why there are so many alloy wheel repair companies around. Toyota (Vibe is actually a Toyota Matrix) has a wheel cover that mimics the look of the alloy wheel styiing, I am about ready to buy a new set of steel rims and wheel covers and get rid of those crappy alloy wheels.
Would I want a set on my View? Absolutely not. I am running the naked steel wheels with the plastic Mercedes front wheel hub caps. Wished everyone made hub caps for front and rear steel wheels as nice as the Chevy/GMC 3500 ones.
I'm the odd man out, my vote is for naked steel wheels.
