I still have not yet pulled the trigger on Alcoa wheels. My plan is to replace my steel wheels and tires together, then resell the old ones on craigslist, assumed to local landscapers who care little about the age of good looking tires. I will also sell my fancy stainless wheel covers on Ebay for the complete kit would likely draw a decent price there, and the cost of shipping would be reasonable.

HERE, a fellow PC owner shared that he bought the
Alcoa Durabright Wheel Package from the same supplier for $200 more. He said the finish looks nicer and will hold up better. When ready to take action, I am going to spent that $200 more. Given we plan to own our rig until too old and dangerous to drive it, I hope it will be extra money well spent.
I understood as you say, the lighter weight of the Alcoa wheels is supposed to offer a better ride over bumps and such. I plan to weigh both the steel wheels and Alcoa wheels, comparing the difference.
