I also went to induction cooking in my 1976 FMC. I much prefer it to gas cooking in small quarters.
What is the diameter of the heating area of the cooktop?
Someone who uses one, has had problems trying to make a pair of grilled cheese sandwiches on one. The burner is about 8" in diameter. Half of the grilled cheese was fine, the other half was not fried.
Has that been a problem for your frying?Bill.Satellite wrote:
Yes, residential fridge. Our last Prevost had a 20 CF GE side-by-side and this one has a Fisher-Paykel 17.5 CF unit. Strangely enough, there's more usable room in the new one. It's also much more efficient than our 21 year old GE. With 8 4D batteries and 2-2500 watt inverters everything works exactly the same whether plugged in or not. The only exception is the cook top. We had gas previously and this one has an induction cook top. If we are dry camping we would need to run the generator to use the cook top but we usually do at night for a few hours anyway.
Thanks.
Wouldn't the inverter run one of the burners for the cooktop? They should be no more than about 1800 watts per burner, or am I incorrect, or do you use more than one burner at a time?- BigRabbitManExplorerI also went to induction cooking in my 1976 FMC. My Wife and I do jigsaw puzzles to pass the time away during this pandemic but it will probably be more productive for you to rebuild the Pace Arrow to pass the time. BTW puzzles cost about $15 each probably less than the cost for the rebuild!
Puzzles, $15.00???!!!?? Lol...
Ah, yea, quite a bit cheaper than the cost of a rebuild, as well as much faster.Bill.Satellite wrote:

Please post some pics, both inside and out. I'd love to see what the floorplan looks like, especially living room and kitchen.
