Anyone Know What This Box Is?

I was looking around in the freshwater compartment (inside rear bedroom) of my Thor Motor Coach 2012 (former CruiseAmerica, Majestic) and noticed this box (see pic). It has a number of wires coming from it as shown in the pic. A few of them are labeled L, R, CL, CR and Ackton seems to be the manufacture. Also has an input plug of some kind, possibly for programming purposes

Anyone know what this might be? Thx in advance.

  • IAMICHABOD thank you! I installed a backup camera (two actually) that comes on automatically through the in dash radio so it is low on my priority list to add for now. However, I rent mine out from time to time so you can never have too much protection from lack of attention;-) and will add after a few more urgent items are taken care of.

Was hoping there was a forum dedicated to this model...seems to be often overlooked in a lot of RV sites but I enjoy it. Heading over there now to take a peek. Thx again.
  • Welcome to the Forum stoian 1.

Well it looks like the mystery has been solved,I have seen many Majestics that have a backup warning system on them. It probably still works, the previous owner may have disabled it.

Being new here you may not have seen THIS THREAD there are many Majestic owners there.

If there are any other questions about Majestics they may be able to help you, just join in and tell us what you think of owning a Former Rental.
  • Eureka. That looks like it and makes sense. I think CruiseAmerica takes these out when they sell their units, at least I remember hearing about this.

That b being said, wonder why they would leave this part in. Could also be the former owners removed it.

Huge thank you to everyone who replied! Once less thing on my RV to-do list.

  • Yeah, it’s a backup warning system. Yours is the Ackton P4000 system.

If you zoom in on your photo, you can see the big “P” logo printed on the metal case like in the image below.

Here’s a product brochure for yours.

  • Perhaps it's a converter from combined brake/indicator lights (as is typical of trailers) to separate ones...or vice-versa. Perhaps it's something completely and totally different.
  • Does your coach have backup parking sensors on the rear bumper area? I got a hit on manualslib.com for an “Ackton Precision Park P5000 Series Owner's Manual”. I don’t think that’s your specific system, but that’s apparently the type of stuff they make. The L (left), R (right), CL (center left), CR (center right) wires would go to the four sensors. The other wires may go to a display in the dash.
