Anyone own a Monaco VESTA

So in my COVID internet searches I was searching for info on a 28-32 ft Class A, diesel power and came across the a 2011 32' Monaco VESTA. Guess this is a front engine setup, looks nice.

Anyone own or know about this model? My last RV was a 1998 Monaco Dynasty 36' DP.

This will not be a full time rig, 30-60 day trips.

  • It's a cool rig. One of my favorites from a design standpoint, it that it looks decades more modern than all of the other bread-box coaches.

But Dennis is right.... It's fatal flaw is the Maxxforce. And I think the front-engine noise was a turn-off too. The Maxxforce was Navistar's attempt to meet modern emissions requirements without using DEF, and they did this using high EGR strategy. This made it a bit of a fuel hog, and the EGR strategy causes carbon-fouling problems. Those issues might not be as big of a deal in a motorhome because of the driving cycle. But there's a multitude of other problems with it as well, MANY of those motors have been scrapped long ago. This is the same motor that was used as the Powerstroke from 2008-2010.

  • I see a lot of negitive threads on the internet about the Maxxforce engine. Doesn't Tiffen use this chassis/engine setup somewhere in their product line?
