Anyone use a First alert 10 year CO detector ?

I bought a first alert CO detector for the bedroom to replace the out of date original one. It stated it had a 10 year non-replaceable battery, so I thought that would be a great way to go. It has a digital thermometer and a "Peak level" display.

Well, after a year, it started beeping and the "End" of life was being displayed. When I looked at the manual, it stated that cold or hot temperatures will shorten battery life.... ?

Has anybody else tried one of these, and I would like to know what others have been happy with.

    I installed the 10 year type at home in a couple of spots which are hard to reach.
    Useless junk. Lots of false alarms.
    Decided to cut my losses, pulled them down and went back to the usual kind.

    Not the exact model but I've got a First Alert CO and Smoke combination. It's been installed for probably 5 or 6 years. Mine has a replaceable battery and I've replaced it 3 or so times. It has worked fine since I've had it.

    Well, that probably wasn't much help but wanted to post something since you probably feel pretty alone.
