Well Gang,
This morning was the first chance I've had to try out my new Costco DIO system. I had to wait 'till the morning 'cause we've had so much heat here lately I didn't want to test the system out during the heat of the day. So, the morning shot at it was the best time. Well, I pre-wetted the truck as I do normally. Then, I washed it normally with the car wash soap I have. Then rinsed it all down with normal water and, all the time I was washing it with the brush and soap, I kept dousing it with regular water from the hose.
Then, when it was all washed and rinsed, I hit it with the DIO System and rinsed it all again. Then this was the hardest part. I've never done this in my entire life. I WALKED AWAY FROM A SOAKING, WET CAR!!! I then went out and vacuumed our pool, then ate breakfast and then, went out and checked the truck, about an hour and a half after the DIO rinse.
Well, I'll have to say, that, in that almost 82 degree time of the morning, that truck was almost completely dry and, basically SPOT FREE!!!!!!!!!
I say basically because, I planned on waxing it today anyway and, when it was applying wax to it, inside the garage, I found some water spots, rather large ones, on the top of the truck. Obviously I didn't rinse that part good enough with the DIO system. But, that's the only spots that were on the truck and, there were only a few anyway. And those spots, they're amazing. Wax won't even budge them. They're so bad that you can feel them with your finger nails. Yeow!!! So, I'll have to wipe them down with some vinegar. Then I can wax that part.
But, in all reality, the review for this product so far, after a first impression, I'd recommend it in a heartbeat. Now, just how many car/RV washes will I get out of it, who knows? Maybe my pool place where I get my chemicals will be able to tell me what kind of water I have and maybe that will give me an approximation of how long I can expect to have the system work efficiently before I have to think about replacing the resin.
And, speaking of that, just in case you don't know it, that Costco unit comes with EXTRA resin refill bags. So, maybe I'm good for a year or more. We'll see.
