What model is your Aqua Hot? Download the parts manual and you can see where the mixing valve is located. Follow JohnnyT's instructions then adjust for desired output temperature.
The check valves are in the heating zones and are sometimes used on the "motor aid" loop (if equiped). No check valve on the hot water.
