Most do not have generators, but many have inverters that require the engine to be running.
I'm not sure what area you are in, but the idea of swapping an old Toyota-based C onto what is likely a battered and worn-out ambulance chassis sounds difficult and expensive compared to just finding a clean used C motorhome.
